Donating Non-Woven Masks to Overseas Friends During the COVID-19 Pandemic

At the beginning of 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic spread rapidly across the globe, Taiwan remained relatively safe compared to many other countries, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Minister Chen Shih-chung and the tireless work of frontline healthcare and epidemic prevention personnel.

Over 97% of Hornling Industrial Inc.’s clients are based overseas. During this challenging period, Hornling received frequent updates from clients informing us that their operations had been disrupted due to the severity of local outbreaks. Many governments had implemented strict preventive measures, including mandatory remote work, which caused significant delays and uncertainty in business activities.

Although located in the safety of Taiwan, Hornling deeply empathized with the difficulties faced by our international clients and friends. Wanting to offer meaningful support, Hornling took the initiative to personally purchase 30,000 non-woven face masks and airfreighted them to partners and friends in Japan, the United States, Europe, and Australia—hoping to stand together with them in overcoming this global crisis.

The response was overwhelmingly heartwarming. Clients and friends from various countries sent back letters and certificates of appreciation. One client shared a touching story: after distributing the masks within their facility, they donated the remaining masks to a local children’s hospital. The hospital staff, moved by the gesture, asked the client to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hornling on their behalf. These sincere responses deeply moved everyone at Hornling and reaffirmed the value of compassion and solidarity during difficult times.
